🌴 Tripfolk

Plans with travellers and locals

Coffee at ten, a museum on Saturday, a hike before sunrise. Someone posts a plan, you join in one tap, and the group chat opens itself. Keep a map of every country you've been to along the way.

Free to use. The iOS version is on its way.

How it works

Everything starts with a plan that has a time and a place.

πŸ—ΊοΈ

Your city, on one map

Travellers and locals who are in the same city as you, shown with a rounded distance β€” never an exact position.

β˜•

Plans you can just join

Someone posts "coffee at 6", you tap join, and the group chat opens. Every plan has a time and a place.

✈️

Overlapping trips

Add where you're going next and Tripfolk shows who else will be there on the same dates.

🌍

Your passport

Mark every country you've visited. See your share of the world and who you've overlapped with.

🏠

Locals, not just tourists

Most apps only connect travellers to each other. Tripfolk includes the people who actually live there.

Verified profiles

A quick selfie check gets you a verified badge. Report and block are one tap away on every profile.

Your exact location never leaves your phone

Most "people nearby" apps store the coordinates your phone reports. Tripfolk doesn't β€” and that's a design decision, not a setting you have to find.

  • Shifted before it's stored. Every location is moved 300–800 m in a direction fixed to your account, then snapped to a 500 m grid. The raw coordinates are discarded.
  • Never sent to anyone. The API returns distances like "2.4 km", never latitude and longitude. Map pins are drawn at an approximate position, not your real one.
  • You can disappear. Turn visibility off, or delete your account from inside the app β€” profile, trips and plans go with it.

Age requirement

Tripfolk is for people aged 18 and over. Date of birth is asked at sign-up and can't be changed afterwards. Accounts found to belong to anyone under 18 are removed. If you believe a minor is using Tripfolk, report the profile in the app or email [email protected].
